Fat Viking race

Harder, longer, icy. What was supposed to be a 150km fatbike race turned out to be a 175km fatbike race! The course had to be adjusted due to the (VERY) unusually mild winter. Okay, so the race just got longer? We kept the climbing, just in case! BearBones Winter Bivi 2017

What? An informal gathering of fatbike loving goons in the Jura on the border of France and Switzerland. Not a race, not an event, just a few days of riding in the...

Team Fatty tackle the Yorkshire Dales 300

Best Laid Plans It’s November 2015 and my good friend and top adventure companion Colin asks if I’d like to enter the YorkshireDales300. “What’s it all about?” I asked, Colin replied ‘we need to do a bivi ride covering 300km in the Yorkshire Dales over 3 days’. Stupidly, I say ‘Sounds brill – let’s do it!’ Fast forward to February and we’re out on our 2 nd bivi of the year complaining that it isn’t cold enough and we got chatting...
