We are pleased to announce that bookings are now being taken for our Winter Camp 2018.
Having worked tirelessly for the last couple of weeks, to secure the best accommodation, at the very best price, we think we’ve come up with a long weekend which you’ll find hard not to love.
Check in: Thursday 25th January 2018
Check out: Monday 29th January 2018
We have secured exclusive use of Chamonix Lodge, a 15 berth lodge in the heart of Chamonix, complete with kitchen, large communal living space AND communal sauna AND communal hot tub.
In addition to this, we have also secured the use of the lodge next door for any guests over and above the 15. Obviously, like all the very best clubs, members next door will be more than welcome to use our facilities*
*drink with us in the communal living space!
What can I expect?
If last year is anything to go by;
Days: Dicking about in the snow in stunning scenery, excellent trails, getting a bit lost, being stared at for being in a large group of fatbikers, spills, thrills, laughs, beers and ridiculously expensive fondu (but only if you’re daft enough to let the local restaurateurs talk you into it)
Nights: Laughs, beers, getting locked in local restaurants, dancing, drinking, more laughs, upsetting French waitresses and most importantly; making new friends. Awww.
How much will all this cost?
We have secured a discounted rate of €175 for 4 nights accommodation (including a basic continental breakfast)
(Please note: the 1st 15 attendees will pay the guaranteed price of €175. After that, whilst we are told that prices will be similar if not the same for next door, your price and availability will be confirmed by the lodge owner, immediately prior to booking)
How will I get there?
Owing to our diverse readership, we anticipate people travelling from different parts of Europe, making travel coordination a mind melt. Therefore, as last year, how you get to Chamonix is down to you.
Be it plane, train or donkey; whichever method you choose, we’ll do our best to assist you and we won’t see you struggle. Most of the low cost airlines fly into Geneva, so that might be your first port of call.
What will I need?
I don’t really need to say fatbike, do I? I do? Ok, you’ll need a fatbike but if you really don’t have one, or really can’t get yours to Chamonix, then there is always the option to hire. You’ll also need something other than shorts and flip-flops to ride in and a bit of spending money.
We can offer practical advice on kit if you need us to, and we will post up more information as we get closer to Christmas (so you can ask the fat man in the red suit for anything you’re missing)
I want in, what do I have to do?
To secure your place, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll email you back with payment details. Once we’ve got your cash, you’re in. It couldn’t be easier!
Once you’re in, make sure you join our Facebook event page, where you can get to know your fellow riders, receive updates, swap tips and generally talk bollocks about bikes.
I want a sense of collective belonging and wish to remember this event for the rest of my natural life, can anyone at Fatbiking.eu help me?
Well, you’re in luck, because this year you can buy a commemorative t-shirt! Impress your friends and cause jealous rage for anyone who was stupid enough not to join us at Winter Camp 2018.
Get yours by clicking here.
And if, in the highly unlikely event that none of the above has you racing for your debit card, here are a few photos from Winter Camp 2017 to seal the deal.
