Weekend Wanderings – 27.11.17

Lots of you went in search of snow this weekend; some with more success than others.

First up is Fatbiking Europe founder, Gairy Mannion, who set his alarm for 05:00, was over the border in Italy by 05:30 and was riding by 06:00.

His reward for such an early start? -13°c (without wind-chill), pitch black skies and 15cm of fresh fluffy white stuff! Looking at these shots, I’d say it was worth it!

In the UK, Justin Kellett braved the harsh cold of the North of England to send us these shots taken at Alphin Pike.

Meanwhile, Robert Rondahl was enjoying the snow in Luleå, Sweden, where these impressive photos were taken.

Lastly, there was yours truly.

Despite the forecast promising heavy snow in the Peak District on Sunday, all I got was mud!

I could see snow covered mountains in the distance but these were out of my reach. Ironically, these were probably the snow covered mountains being enjoyed by Justin!

All was not lost though, as I still got to enjoy the stunning Derwent Dam and the area where some of us will be riding on Global Fatbike Day next week.

    • It’s a shame you can’t make the actual day mate but I’m sure you’ll make up for it.

Gutted as it’s the first one I’ve missed since getting mine ☹
